For Camilo Atala Faraj, president of Grupo Financiero Ficohsa, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Honduras has strong potential for further development. Every day we will see more and more small and medium-sized companies joining the new business management strategy.
Honduras, as a nation that’s always looking towards development, will join the CSR movement, which is advancing rapidly and is changing the way companies do business.
Camilo Atala Faraj: National businessmen must accentuate their contribution to Honduras
Camilo Atala Faraj says that there’s still a long way to go, because although there’re companies registered and certified by Fundahrse as socially responsible companies, the private sector can make much more progress through CSR, since this is where the national businessman should accentuate his contribution to Honduras.
Regarding the issue of social support, he believes that many companies have always identified themselves as such; however, they should work with the groups’ collaborators, generate pension funds, manage personal finance programs and generate good salaries. «Honduras is in an intermediate position; the inspiration of private enterprise is to substantially improve our position in the field of CSR,» said the businessman.
Small and medium-sized companies should practice Corporate Social Responsibility
He reaffirmed that it’s important to support small and medium-sized businesses in incorporating CSR, since this will bring many benefits to the country in the future.
Banco Ficohsa as a certified company encourages clients to also incorporate CSR as part of their business strategy, used as a marketing tool.
