Camilo Atala Faraj, President of Ficohsa Financial Group, believes that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Honduras has strong potential for further development. He assures that we will see more incorporation of small and medium-sized companies into the new business management strategy.
CSR is advancing relatively quickly after Honduras joined the movement that is changing the way companies do business.
Camilo Atala Faraj: National businessman must accentuate his contribution to Honduras.
The renowned banker believes that there is still a long way to go, as there are currently companies registered and certified by Fundahrse as socially responsible companies; however, he believes that much more can be done as a private sector through CSR, which is where the national businessman should accentuate his contribution to Honduras.
As a person of wide-ranging knowledge, he said that all the areas in which CSR works have reported progress. With regard to the issue of community support, he believes that many companies have always identified themselves as such, but that they should work with the groups’ collaborators, generate pension funds, manage personal finance programs and generate good salaries.
«I believe that Honduras is in an intermediate position; the inspiration of private enterprise is to substantially improve our position in the field of CSR,» said the businessman.
Small and medium-sized companies must practice Corporate Social Responsibility.
On the subject of CSR, he reaffirms that it is important to support small and medium-sized enterprises in incorporating and putting Corporate Social Responsibility into practice.
For this reason, more and more companies are interested in incorporating CSR as part of their business strategy, used as a marketing tool. Ficohsa Bank, as a certified company, encourages its clients to apply this practice.
